Painting Pumpkins
Last year, my friend Christine and I decided it would be really fun to set up an area in the front yard and paint pumpkins with our toddlers. We really loved it and the kids had so much fun. Throwback photo below. So we decided this would be an annual tradition and that, dang it, they would be painting pumpkins together as teenagers even if they think it's lame.
Pumpkin Painting Fall 2015 |
So, this year we had our second annual pumpkin painting with the kiddos. Eliza was actually old enough to paint instead of just being worn the whole time this year, yay. We decided to paint pumpkins in the backyard this time because my toddlers are extremely brave and believe that they are invincible, and hence run into streets.
There were SO many pumpkins this year. Literally, every time I went to the store I was like, "We need another pumpkin, there's that single area of the house that doesn't have one and that's not okay." We also used store bought paint instead of making flour paint like last year. Listen, we are working moms and the paint was non-toxic. It's fine.
It was a bit of a slow start, but once they figured it out they loved it. Eliza did not trust the paint for some time and had to be constantly reassured that it was okay and even fun.
Look how cute our kiddos are. I love this tradition and cannot wait to force them to do it year after year. :)
