A Letter to My Son

Dear Liam,

Tomorrow you will be five months old. It's so crazy how quickly time has flown by, and at the same time how still it has stood. Your little personality is showing more than ever and we love getting to know you.

You have turned our whole world around, and we kinda like it. We didn't think we were ready for you, not just yet anyways. Having a baby wasn't in our plans for the present but instead for the far off future. God, however, had other plans.

God gave you to us according to his timing, and his timing is so perfect. We can't imagine waiting at least four years to have you down the road. Everyday you make life messy, and frustrating, and beautiful.

You are my prince. My sweet, funny, active little boy and I am so incredibly blessed to have you in my life.

I love listening to you jabber to your daddy in the living room while he reads you Dr. Suess books. I love it when you wake up from a nap and smile when you remember that I'm still holding you. I love the way you want to stand all the time, even though we have to balance you. I love how excited you get when I place you on the changing table. I love the way you give big slobbery kisses that leaves my face dripping with sweet baby drool. I love that you are off the growth chart for height. I love the way you play with your puppy, Lola. I love how content you are to sit on the back porch steps and stare out into the yard with me.

We really do think you are just the greatest. And if you happen to be reading this in the future I bet we still think you're pretty good.

Yours Forever,
Mama
