Storybook Baby Shower

I have a BIG family, like really big and they live in various locations. So we had the pleasure of having two wonderful baby showers to celebrate the birth of our little Liam. On November 22nd we had our first one put on by my sweet mama and life long best friend. It was storybook themed, and I loved it!

There was a table full of foods that went along with children stories; the three little pigs - pig in blankets, green deviled eggs and delicious ham sandwiches - green eggs and ham, assorted cookies - if you give a mouse a cookie, ect. It was super cute. The tables were covered in brown paper with classic golden books as decorations.

We played two fun baby shower games.

 > The Water Breaking Game
You buy mini babies (we got ours at party city) and freeze them in ice cubes. When everyone fixes their drinks you make sure each guest gets an ice cube with a baby in it, explaining to them that when the ice cube melts and the baby is free you must yell "my water broke." First one wins. I loved this game and it was hilarious because one of the older quieter ladies in our church won, making it even better.

 > Blindfolded Diaper Changing Game
We did this in groups of twos but you could do more if you wanted. We set up a table with two baby dolls sitting on it and a diaper beside each baby. We started by blindfolding the two guests, spinning them around a little and pushing them a little towards the table. The players would then fumble around the table trying to change their baby before the other one could. For the next round we let the players choose who would play next. This one was the most fun and GREAT to watch.

Everyone brought us books instead of cards so we could begin building Liam's library, which now consist of around 30 books or so. Not bad for a baby still in the womb, huh?

Thank you so much to everyone who made the event so special for us, each and everyone of you are so very dear to our hearts. :)
