Little Liam >> A Sweet Dedication
This past sunday, February 23rd, was the date of Liam's dedication to the Lord. We drove down to our hometown for the weekend and spent every second surrounded by family and friends. My papa is the preacher at a small Assembly of God church in Tolar, TX that I grew up in. In fact it's only recently since we moved that we have not been a member of said church. It's home. We still haven't found a home church in Garland yet. So of course thats where we chose to have his dedication at and my sweet papa dedicated him.
Our family took up 3+ pews... and thats not even the whole family. I'm telling you my family is BIG! And thats the way we like it. On each side, our family has at least four generations that have been saved and serving God. We just think that is the coolest thing. Dedicating Liam was something my husband and I discussed almost immediately after finding out that we were pregnant it's something we wanted and felt as though we were supposed to do. For those of you who don't know what a dedication is it's kind of like a christening. Sorta. It's basically giving Liam back to the Lord and charging the parents and family with the responsibility of raising the baby in a Godly manner and being an example by living for God everyday.
Almost everyone in the congregation was crying, and the whole family standing up front was crying as well. It was basically one big happy cry fest. Afterwards we drove into town for some yummy italian food at Farinas on the square. Then because we are us and we can, we took lots of photos.
Later that day we took Liam to see his great great grandma Parker. It was so sweet he kept smiling and talking to her. Proud mama moment. My sweet little baby.
