Daddy Love
Growing up I was always around babies from my little siblings to little cousins to babysitting, babies were just a part of my world. I learned how to change, feed and burp a baby from a pretty young age. I guess thats just something girls do?
Caleb, however, is new at this whole baby thing. Before we had Liam he had only held two babies ever, and that was AFTER I got pregnant. So he has had quite a bit of learning to do.
He has been incredible though. Like seriously I have no idea how I could do all this without him. He works part time, is finishing college, and still gets up at seven in the morning to take care of Liam if I have had a long night with him. He has probably changed at least a thousand diapers now, and does so with skill.
I always knew Caleb would make an amazing dad, that's one of the things that attracted me to him in the first place. But as I watch him communicate and try to teach our six month old boy about everything in the world I fall in love with him all over again.
Sure, he is exhausted and wants a break (somewhere on a beach), but he keeps going and never complains.
Liam loves him so much. I swear that kid will fight going to sleep for as long as possible just so he can be awake when daddy gets home. Liam will be fussy and refusing to go to bed, even though he can't hold his eyes open. But as soon as Caleb walks through the door Liam is all smiles and cuddles and then falls asleep in his arms.
I am so thankful that God gave me a man who loves and takes care of us so well.
I love you Caleb and are so thankful for the man you are. :)
